JOB PURPOSE
To operate and monitor the pellet mill production process efficiently and safely in order to achieve the required production targets and product quality standards while minimizing downtime and material waste.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Operate pellet mill machines and related equipment.Monitor production parameters including temperature, steam, moisture, and pellet quality.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
Ensure production targets are achieved according to daily production plans.
Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the production area.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate pellet machines according to approved operating procedures.
Adjust machine settings to maintain the required pellet quality and production efficiency.
Monitor steam pressure, temperature, amperage, and machine performance during operation.
Conduct routine inspections and report any abnormal conditions or breakdowns immediately.
Ensure raw materials are fed correctly and production flow is maintained.Record production data, machine readings, downtime, and operational issues.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Follow all safety, hygiene, and food/feed safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of machines and surrounding work areas.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
JOB CONTEXT
The Pellet Operator works in a manufacturing/feed mill environment that requires shift work, continuous monitoring of equipment, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards.
Education
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production field is preferred.
Experience
1–3 years of experience in pellet production, feed mills, or manufacturing operations.
Experience in operating pellet mill equipment is preferred.
Skills
Good understanding of pellet production processes.
Ability to monitor and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Ability to work under pressure and within shift schedules.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
