Job Purpose

The Smutter operates specialized machinery to clean grains by removing dirt, husks, and other impurities prior to the milling process. This role is essential in ensuring that raw materials meet the required standards for quality and safety. The Smutter also supports preventive maintenance and ensures full compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations in accordance with KSA standards.

In addition, the role contributes to efficient milling operations by ensuring a continuous and uninterrupted flow of clean grains into the production line, directly influencing the quality of the flour produced.

Key Accountabilities

• Operate smutter equipment to clean grains and prepare them for milling.
• Inspect incoming grains and ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to achieve optimal cleaning results.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on smutter machines.
• Record and report daily operations, equipment status, and grain quality issues.
• Coordinate with millers and quality teams to maintain production flow.
• Adhere to hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
• Report breakdowns promptly and support maintenance teams during repairs.
• Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in milling operations.
• Comply with company code of conduct and operational policies.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager in line with business needs.
• Adhere to company code of conduct, ethics, and relevant Saudi labor and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or vocational training in food processing or mechanical operations.
• 1–3 years of experience in flour milling or grain cleaning operations.
• Basic knowledge of machinery operations and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in shifts and perform effectively under pressure in a production environment.
• Good communication skills in both English and Arabic.
