Job Purpose
To operate and supervise the feed mill production process, from raw material intake through grinding, batching, mixing, pelleting and bagging, ensuring that animal feed products are produced safely, on time, and in line with formulation, quality and feed safety standards. The role optimises plant efficiency and yield, minimises waste and downtime, and leads the shift operators to achieve production targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate and supervise feed milling equipment, including intake, grinding, batching, mixing, conditioning, pelleting, cooling, crumbling and bagging or bulk loading.
- Execute the daily production plan and achieve targets for volume, throughput and on-time delivery.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters (e.g., grind size, mixing time, steam, temperature, moisture) to meet product specifications.
- Carry out product changeovers, flushing and sequencing correctly to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensure every batch is produced according to the approved formula, with accurate dosing of raw materials, premixes and additives.
- Conduct in-process checks and sampling, and support laboratory testing of raw materials and finished feed.
- Identify non-conforming product, hold it, and escalate to the quality team with corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with feed safety standards, including HACCP, GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain batch records to ensure full traceability.
- Coordinate raw material availability with warehouse and planning teams, and report shortages in advance.
- Control yield and minimise wastage, rework, spillage and shrinkage.
- Monitor energy and steam consumption and recommend ways to improve efficiency.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic operator maintenance, such as die and screen changes, cleaning and lubrication.
- Report breakdowns promptly and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimise downtime.
- Maintain housekeeping, hygiene and pest control standards across the mill.
- Enforce safety procedures, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, confined space rules and dust control.
- Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, and take part in safety investigations.
- Supervise, guide and train feed mill operators on equipment operation, quality and safety.
- Maintain production logs and shift handover reports, and report performance, downtime and losses.
- Collaborate with nutritionists, quality and maintenance teams, and take part in process improvement initiatives.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager in line with business needs.
- Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct, ethics, and relevant Saudi labour and regulatory requirements.

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Milling Technology, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in feed milling operations, preferably in a large-scale commercial feed mill.
- Hands-on knowledge of grinding, batching, mixing and pelleting processes and equipment.
- Understanding of feed formulas, raw materials and quality parameters such as moisture and pellet durability.
- Knowledge of feed safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP).
- Experience with automated plant control systems (PLC/SCADA) and basic computer skills; SAP is an advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems.
- Ability to supervise and train operators.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts in a plant environment.
