Job purpose

Responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving the technical, engineering, and maintenance activities across the flour and feed milling plants while ensuring that all systems, machinery, and facilities are operating at peak efficiency, promoting uninterrupted production and cost-effective operations. Additionally, the role drives the implementation of world-class engineering solutions, equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, and state-of-theart automation. Lead regulatory compliance, safety adherence, and the execution of strategic technical projects that align with business objectives

Key Accountabilities

  • Define and execute long-term technical and maintenance strategy aligned with business goals to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Establish engineering policies, standards, and procedures to ensure operational excellence across all production and support systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve productivity and product quality.
  • Drive modernization through automation, digitalization, and advanced technologies.
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime and extend asset life.
  • Optimize CMMS utilization for effective planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to balance cost and availability.
  • Deploy predictive technologies (IoT, analytics) to enhance reliability.
  • Oversee capital projects from planning to execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Lead installations, upgrades, and commissioning of equipment with minimal disruption.
  • Develop and manage maintenance and technical budgets with a focus on cost efficiency and performance.
  • Monitor KPIs (downtime, MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to drive data-based improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy efficiency, and operational optimization.
  • Manage suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
  • Implement corrective actions for any deviations from standards.
  • Build and lead high-performing engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Drive training and upskilling in modern technologies and systems.
  • Ensure effective manpower planning and succession development.
  • Lead adoption of automation, AI, and advanced process control systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM principles.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and integrate new technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate SOPs, manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Report on performance, maintenance efficiency, and project progress with actionable insights.
  • Support development and implementation of technical policies, systems, and procedures to ensure consistency and operational effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

  •  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or technical leadership roles within the milling, manufacturing, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Experience in managing large technical teams and implementing advanced maintenance and engineering solutions.
